How to create a favicon for a website in all sizes
From a PNG, SVG or JPG logo you generate the whole set and download it as one ZIP: favicon.ico (16, 32 and 48 px), 10 PNG sizes from 16 to 512 px, an Apple touch icon, a maskable Android icon and site.webmanifest. The preview shows the icon in a light and dark browser tab and on a phone home screen, and the HTML for the head copies with one click. One square source is enough, ideally at least 512 × 512 px.

Frequently asked questions
Why is my logo unreadable at 16 px?
A full logo with text does not fit into a few pixels. Use a simplified mark, an initial or a symbol for the favicon.
Why does the iPhone icon have a white background?
iOS fills transparent areas of the icon with black. The iPhone icon and the maskable Android icon therefore get the chosen background colour, or white when the background is transparent.
