How to convert text to speech and download it as MP3
The tool reads your text aloud with a voice that runs right in your browser. Pick a language (30+ languages, 124 voices), listen to a voice sample and set the speed, pitch and pauses. Download the finished recording as MP3 or WAV. With downloadable voices the text never leaves your browser; only the voice model is downloaded, once. Online system voices (such as Vlasta and Antonín in Edge) are converted by the browser maker's server.

How it works
- 01Paste or type your text (up to 5,000 characters) or load a .txt file.
- 02Pick a language and a voice; the sample button plays it before the model downloads.
- 03Adjust speed, pitch and the pauses after sentences and paragraphs. Type a custom pause as [pause 2 s].
- 04Click Play (Ctrl + Enter). The first sentence starts right away, the rest is computed while you listen.
- 05Download the recording as MP3 or WAV (Ctrl + S).
Frequently asked questions
Which Czech voices are available?
For download there is the Czech male voice Jirka (Piper, CC0 license) in two qualities. I do not have an open female Czech voice with a clear license yet. Female Czech voices are otherwise offered by cloud services that would need your text sent to them, so I do not use them. Microsoft Edge offers the online Czech voices Vlasta (female) and Antonín (male): they are listen only and Microsoft's server converts the text.
Why can't system voices be downloaded?
System voices are played by the browser or operating system outside the page, so their audio cannot be captured. They are listed separately and only voices in the Downloadable group can be saved.
How much data is downloaded?
A voice model is 21 to 137 MB depending on quality. It downloads once and stays in your browser storage; you can delete it from the list. MP3 conversion loads a converter once (about 31 MB).
Can I use the recording commercially?
It depends on the voice license. Open the Voice license link under the list; licenses differ by dataset.
