What is Shopify?
Shopify is a Canadian platform that powers millions of stores worldwide. It works as a rental, not ownership: you install no software, handle no hosting or updates, and pay a monthly plan. A store is made of four layers:

The advantage and the drawback are the same: standardisation. Checkout has a defined interface and extension options. Missing functions may require an app, custom integration or a higher plan.
How does Shopify work?
- Sign-up and trial. Shopify for Czechia currently offers 3 days free, then 25 CZK a month for 3 months.
- Choose a plan. Basic, Grow, Advanced or Plus, by features and volume.
- Theme and content. Pick a theme, upload products, categories and pages.
- Payments. Shopify Payments (cards, payouts in CZK or EUR), or another gateway through an app.
- Shipping, invoicing, feeds. In Czechia through third-party apps.
- Selling. Manage orders, stock and customers in the admin, including from the mobile app.

The plan is only part of the budget. For both platforms, verify the exact shipping, invoicing and feed functions included. Add paid apps, payment fees, possible currency conversion and taxes according to billing details.

Is Shopify available in Czech?
Partly. You can switch the admin to Czech, which is one of Shopify's supported languages. You can translate the storefront into Czech and other languages. Verify the support language and channel for your account; the admin language does not guarantee identical localisation for support or apps.

Verify availability, functions and fees before selecting an integration. Test orders, cancellations and data transfer; not every solution requires a paid app.

Choose Shoptet when you:
- sell only in Czechia and Slovakia,

Czech gateways such as GoPay or Comgate connect through an app, and Shopify then charges an extra 0.2-2% per transaction depending on the plan.
Can Shopify connect to Heureka and Zbozi.cz?
Yes, but through a third-party app or a custom feed; the platform has no native support. On Shoptet the XML feed for comparison sites is part of the platform. If those channels are your main source of sales, that's an argument for Shoptet.
Is Shopify better than Shoptet?
