About the tool

How to reduce photo size without visible quality loss

The tool shrinks JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF photos so you can e-mail them, upload them to an online shop or load them fast on a website. Set the quality with a slider or enter a target size in kB. It handles up to 50 files at once, each up to 100 MB.

When it helps

  • Website and online shop

Smaller images load faster, which helps both visitors and Google. The biggest saving comes from resizing to the width your site actually displays.

  • E-mail attachments

Phone photos are often several MB. After compression they fit mailbox limits.

  • Upload forms

When a portal demands a file under a certain size, enter the target kB and the quality is calculated for you.

How it works

  1. 01Drop your photos into the window or pick them from your computer.
  2. 02Choose the quality or a target size and the output format (JPG, PNG or WebP).
  3. 03Compare the original with the result and download the files.

Frequently asked questions

Will I see a quality difference?

At medium quality usually not on screen. Heavy compression shows in fine detail and colour gradients, which is why the tool shows a before and after comparison.

Why can't I save AVIF?

The tool reads AVIF, but browsers cannot reliably encode it from a canvas. For websites use WebP, which saves a similar amount and works in all common browsers.
