Why Run an SEO Audit
Most websites have technical problems the owner doesn't know about. Slow loading, duplicate content, bad headings, broken links — each of these costs you Google positions and therefore customers.
A professional SEO audit combines several tools: Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, GA4, PageSpeed Insights, and Ahrefs/Semrush.
What Gets Checked
- Technical SEO — crawlability, indexation, speed, mobile version
- On-page SEO — headings, meta tags, content structure, internal linking
- Content — quality, uniqueness, keyword coverage
- Off-page SEO — backlinks, domain authority
- UX signals — bounce rate, time on page, conversion paths
Real Audit Findings
Problem 1: Duplicate and Poorly Written H1 Headings
Finding: 4 of 12 pages had H1 headings that didn't contain keywords — creative slogans instead of descriptive titles. Solution: Rewrote H1s to keyword-first variants while keeping them readable.
Problem 2: Thin Content
Finding: 3 pages had fewer than 100 words of indexable content. Solution: Added descriptive sections with 300–500 words of relevant text linked to other pages.
Problem 3: Layout Shift on Load
Finding: Logo and hero image had no defined dimensions. CLS score 0.35 (limit is 0.1). Solution: Set fixed width/height containers. CLS dropped to 0.02.
Problem 4: Outdated Meta Descriptions
Finding: Homepage meta description listed prices that no longer matched reality. Solution: Updated meta descriptions across all pages with current prices.
Problem 5: Keyword Cannibalization
Finding: Two service pages targeted the same keyword. Google didn't know which to show. Solution: Content differentiation — one page targets the broader topic, the other a specific segment.
How to Prioritize
Critical (fix immediately)
Pages blocked in robots.txt, noindex on important pages, broken SSL, extremely slow loading.
High Priority (fix within a week)
Duplicate content without canonical, missing/duplicate H1, broken links (404s), missing meta descriptions.
Medium Priority (fix within a month)
Thin content, missing image alt texts, poor internal link structure, missing structured data.
What an Audit Costs
| Website Size | Audit Price |
|---|---|
| Small (up to 20 pages) | 5,000–10,000 CZK |
| Medium (20–100 pages) | 10,000–20,000 CZK |
| E-shop (100+ pages) | 15,000–30,000 CZK |
When to Run an Audit
- Before a redesign — know what to preserve and fix
- After launching a new site — verify everything is set up correctly
- When traffic drops — find the cause
- Regularly — ideally every 6–12 months
